Menu for Week of October 9

We tried something new this week… We went to the Willow Glen Farmers Market, which is on Saturday. It was the saddest, smallest little market if we ever did see one. There were about 5 booths of fresh vegetables and fruit, and equally as many booths selling salsas and dips. I’m glad we checked it out, so we know now not to go again. Most of the booths just sold fruit too, not many vegetables. We did pick up some Protobella Mushrooms, so we’ll have to fit those into our Menu tomorrow when we go to the bigger-n-better market!

Last week, we didn’t quite make all the dishes we wanted to make… We ended up switching around some of the days, and when it got around the the spaghetti squash… Well, we didn’t feel like having it. So, this week we have less vegetables to buy, because we have some left overs! Also, this is a week of repeats. We feel so unoriginal already. What can I say? We are creatures of habit!

Cheers to week four!Sunday – Homemade Mozzarella, Heirloom Tomatoes, and Basil on a baguette. (This is the same as last Sunday, but my parents are going to be in town, and we wanted to treat them to this!)

Monday – We’ll be in SF, so no dinner for us!

Tuesday- Fig Mascarpone Prosciutto Pizza with a Balsamic Honey Reduction (Same as last weeks. It was heavenly… we have to make it again since we can’t stop thinking about it! Plus, this is the last week Figs are in season. Or so the farmers say…)

Wednesday- Spaghetti Squash with left over Spaghetti Sauce (From a few weeks ago- it’s been in the freezer) and Chicken Sausage

Thursday- Stuffed Portobella mushroom caps

Friday- Ravioli and Summer Squash (It’s a common staple around here, but oh-so-good! Plus, summer squashes aren’t in season forever, so we need to eat as many as we can since they’re our favorite!)
